Simone Giai (09/04/1998, Rivoli) is a self-taught Italian artist. His artistic practice ranges from materials borrowed from the world of graffiti to analog photographic techniques, in a free act of rebellion against academicism. His works, born from spontaneous and experimental research, are mysterious abstract scenarios where tentacles of color spread across the paper. The pop hues conceal the use of raw materials as much artificial as natural, as well as the cyanotype technique, employed in an unconventional manner. It requires a precise exposure time to the sun and fixing through a wash in water. Like a chemist, he works with a vast combination of elements with the sun aiding in the creation of his works.
