TEST(*E)

is an experimental project that helps the visitor through all the phases explored by the artist, starting from figurative works, each one with its own twin, up to full abstractionism. Each painting is a ‘’test’’ that contains various elements and different techniques. The common thread is Cyanotype, an old photographic printing process where two chemicals (ferric ammonium citrate and potassium ferrocyanide) are mixed, dissolved in distilled water. When exposed to UV light they create Prussian blue images, classic pigment of Cyanotype.
The metamorphosis of this process comes through the combination of natural elements such as turmeric, paprika, wine and tannin, naturally occuring in plants, and other techniques including acrylic and watercolour. This is a journey through imaginary shapes, colors and landscapes where the viewer trains his brain to detach himself from the figurative and then reach full abstractionism finding the opportunity to create his own scenario and be guided by his own creativity with a mental stretching. The idea of testing heads is almost the emblem of the human being: what is REAL and what is IMAGINARY?
