ISTRUZIONI UTILI SU COME ABITARSI
In a fantastical and dreamlike dimension, the project on display weaves a web of elements that give form and nourishment to the artist’s creative process. The concept of dwelling takes shape through imaginary figures that populate a world of light, where castles dissolve and are reborn from the waters. Part of the work draws inspiration from the so-called ‘’Grilli Gotici’’: grotesque figures that animate medieval paintings and invite the viewer to embrace the unusual and the mysterious, something that initially eludes understanding.
Rich in symbolism, the paintings traverse distant eras: from the solar suggestions of Ancient Egypt to the mysticism of the Gothic period, eventually encountering the sensibility of the contemporary world. All the works are created using the same technique, which intertwines with the myth of the depicted settings. The paintings are born in a darkroom, using a Cyanotype emulsion combined with turmeric, oil pastels, acrylics, and spray paint. After the pictorial phase, the works are exposed to sunlight and finally developed and permanently fixed onto the paper through a water wash.
